GYM @ New Malden Sports Club

We pride ourselves on being a small independent friendly, family gym.  Members are given a fitness programme and are closely monitored.  We strive to run a gym that has a relaxed environment, where members feel comfortable with the gym equipment provided.

 

On joining everybody has to fill in a health and fitness questionnaire, and health care check. Members are encouraged to take part in friendly gym challenges, and to participate in the social events the Club organise.  Members range from 16 years to 80!  Everyone is welcome.

 

We have three gyms, one gym for cardio training, and two gyms for weight training.

Cardio Training

Do you want to increase your energy levels? Reduce stress? Or just shape up?  Then visit our cardio gym, interval workouts, endurance exercises or sport training, can help to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.  Try out our new adaptive motion trainer, changing the intensity of your workout from low impact stepping to high intensity running, governed by your own stride pattern.

Strength Training

Sculpture your body using free weights, resistance machines and Olympic bar to increase muscle and tone.

Free weights includes Olympic bench press, Smith machine, free standing benches, tricep and abdominal chair, dumbbells up to 35kg and barbells.

 

Fixed resistance machines include chest press, shoulder press, peck desk, lat pulldown, inner/outer thigh, leg curl, leg press and leg extension.

 

Also available various exercise classes, such as circuit training for fit people who want to get fitter, pilates for inner body core strength and control, gym training sessions for people who need motivation and guidance whilst training.  Check out the current exercise classes now, and find one that suits you, and remember many classes are free to gym members, with discount for other section members.

The Gym is open daily 7.30am - 10.30pm, last entrance is 9.30pm.
